Served |

|
He never saw it coming
Never saw it once
Wanted to be a playboy
Now he’s served for lunch.
He’s always good with women,
Knows just what to say.
But this one has him stumped,
She’s smart in every way.
She’s the one to choose the time,
She also chooses the pace.
Not that he’s opposed,
Just hasn’t entered the race.
He reads the magazines,
Learns a thing or two,
Attempts the schemes on her
And totally fails to woo.
He wanted to be dating
Her and her and her
But this woman is the best
Of this he is quite sure.
Uncertain how she did it
His independent soul
Finds itself pining
For just a momentary glow.
Finally learns his lesson,
Gosh, what a thick skull.
He can’t try to take the lead.
Coercion is too droll.
Enjoy the time together,
Accept the situation,
Expect nothing more
Than a smile and conversation.
